San Mateo police have arrested a man they said was involved with a daylight bank robbery on Wednesday.

At about 10:25 a.m. Wednesday an unidentified man walked into the Wells Fargo Bank, located on the 100 block of South Ellsworth Avenue in San Mateo, Lt. Mike Brunicardi said.

San Mateo Police Search For Bank Robber

The man approached a teller and passed her a note announcing that he was robbing the bank, Brunicardi said.

The teller feared for her safety and complied with the request for money, but no weapon was seen during the robbery, Brunicardi said.

The man grabbed an undetermined amount of cash and the demand note, and left, Brunicardi said.

On Wednesday night at about 11:30, Patrol Sgt. Dave Norris saw a man walking in the 300 block of Baldwin Avenue in San Mateo that matched the description of the man in the Wells Fargo Bank robbery, Brunicardi said.

Norris conducted a pedestrian stop and identified the person as Krishneel Chandra, 30 of San Mateo, according to Brunicardi.

Norris interviewed Chandra and released him, according to Brunicardi.

On Thursday, at about 10 a.m., detectives contacted Chandra at his San Mateo home and after a subsequent interview, he confessed to the robbery, according to Brunicardi.

A search of Chandra’s home revealed items of evidence linking him to the robbery, according to Brunicardi.

Chandra was transported to the San Mateo County Jail and booked in connection with the bank robbery and additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to Brunicardi.

On Friday, Wells Fargo offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person behind other recent robberies in Woodside and Palo Alto.

Hulk Hogan's Cougar Queen wife dating a 19-year-old?

Hulk Hogan's got himself a young blond named Jennifer McDaniel who looks like his daughter Brooke's twin.

Now his ex-wife, Linda Hogan, has topped him with her young blond hunk, Charlie Hill, age (gulp) 19. So she's almost 30 years older than this kid? (Her reported bday was Aug. 24, 1959.) All together now, Eeeewwww!

Click here for more video and photos of the Cougar Queen and her new cub.

Apparently, LInda didn't have to look further than her children's high school year book to find her manboy,

"I went to school with him," admits Brooke. "He was a grade under me... Me and Nick know him well. Me and Nick are two years apart, and he was right between us" in school, says Brooke Hogan.

She also told E! that she is "totally freaked out. This is really weird. I personally don't like it at all or condone it."

Just when you thought your family was wacko, the Hogans make ya feel kinda boring and normal.

New uniforms .... in 2010

Well, there's good news and bad news on the uniform front. The good news is that the team plans on holding a number of focus groups this summer to determine if the 49ers' current duds should be changed and, if so, what the new ones should look like. The tentative plan is to ask fans their opinions during public practices at training camp. The team typically opens 10 sessions every training camp.

The bad news is that if the team decides on new unis, they won't hit the field until 2010. I got this reply from the league when I inquired about the procedure for changing uniforms:

"A club must give written notice and details thereof to the League by March 1 of the year prior to the year in which it wishes to change and must submit the final design and physical samples of the uniforms to the League office for approval by November 1 of that same year."

The 49ers certainly could have a final design and physical samples by Nov. 1. but they haven't given the written notice. Instead the team has been preoccupied with other matters (something about an $800-plus million stadium). And while a lot of fans (and me) are in favor of returning to the Ronnie Lott-, Joe Montana-era cherry red duds, there's no guarantee that will happen. When I've spoken with Jed York on the matter in the past, he's said that previous focus groups have been split 50-50 between the old duds and the current ones. This seems like one of those red state-blue state, tastes great-less filling, Alex Smith-Shaun Hill type matters. Let the debate begin ...
